Privacy policy

Last updated: 24 July 2026. This policy describes the site as it currently exists. It is not a substitute for legal advice and will be reviewed by counsel before commercial launch.

What we collect today

Almost nothing. There are no user accounts, no quote request intake, and no reviews. The site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. Browsing GolfCartHelp today does not create a record about you beyond ordinary web server request logs.

What we will collect as features launch

Quote requests

When quote requests open we will collect your name, email address, an optional phone number, your ZIP code, and a description of the problem, along with any photos you choose to attach. We will also record the timestamp of your consent to be contacted and the version of the terms you agreed to.

A quote request is never publicly readable. It can only be opened by a repair provider it has been matched to, and only while that provider’s subscription is active. This is enforced by row-level security in the database rather than by application code alone. Requests expire automatically after 30 days.

Photos are stored in a private bucket that is not publicly enumerable and are served only through short-lived signed links generated on the server.

We record a salted hash of the submitting IP address and the browser user agent for rate limiting and abuse review. The raw IP address is not stored, and neither field is readable by any provider.

Accounts and business listings

Provider accounts will store an email address and a display name. Business listing information — trading name, public phone number, service areas, specialties — is published deliberately and is public by design. A member’s personal profile is separate from the public listing and is readable only by that person.

Billing

Subscription payments will be processed by Stripe. We never see or store card details. We store a Stripe customer and subscription identifier, the plan, the status, and period dates, in a table no public role can read at all.

Reviews

A review stores a display name, the rating, and the text. A reviewer’s email address is stored privately for verification and is not readable by the business being reviewed or by the public.

Text messages

We do not send text messages. If SMS notification is introduced it will require separate, explicit opt-in with its own consent record, STOP and HELP handling, and rate limits. We will not repurpose a phone number given for a quote request into a marketing channel.

Advertising and affiliate links

No advertising network is running on this site. No affiliate programme is connected. When affiliate links are introduced, clicking one will take you to a merchant that sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy. See our affiliate disclosure.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. Quote request details are shared only with the repair providers your request is matched to. Beyond that, data is shared only with service providers who operate the site on our behalf — hosting, database, and payment processing — and where the law requires it.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be deleted. Email support@golfcarthelp.com. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We will update this page when what we collect changes, and the date at the top will change with it.
